Design Focus: MissPrint

Interior-design show Decorex is a great place to discover tomorrow’s big names. And this year all talk was of textile duo MissPrint.

Of all the London Design Festival events, Decorex is the most upscale of the lot. It’s the professionals’ interior-design show and a must-visit for anyone in that industry. The show is a breeding ground for hot new talent, and this year the buzz on Twitter and Instagram was all about MissPrint. It’s easy to see why.

There isn’t one Miss Print, but two – mother and daughter team Yvonne and Rebecca. Against her mother’s advice, Rebecca followed Yvonne into textiles and surface design and they’ve been working together ever since.

Their products start life as hand-drawn illustrations and take inspiration from ‘the nature within the urban environment and the rich and diverse mix of cultures’, as well as mid-century illustration and Scandinavian design. They hand print textiles from a riverside studio in East London.

This is their latest wallpaper range, called Collection 2. Standout designs include Grasslands, Mountains and Little Trees.
