The Beneath Rug tells the story of the incredible power of the liquid, burning heart of our seemingly solid landscape. The concept behind this piece is "What is the truth behind the texture?" Jab’s advanced techniques in combining wool with silk, in carving and in subtly playing with colours allowed us to create a very dramatic, three-dimensional moment in time just before the earth entirely gives way to the lava beneath. Just like when we used to jump from pieces of furniture to avoid the 'lava' below us. The contrast of materials used to create this piece make the detailing all the more fascinating and the colours are just incredible. This area rug is adaptable to a home or office environment and is sure to attract prolonged gaze.
