The Christine Mirror has elements of contemporary art in its design, with a striking undulating mirrored surface that frames a flat mirror at its centre. Designed by Dante O. Benini, Luca Gonzo and Helidon Xhixha, the Christine mirror is manufactured by the Italian firm, Fiam, which is well-renowned for its beautiful work in curved glass.
The undulating frame is made in 6 mm-thick high temperature fused glass that is back silvered for a mirrored effect. This surface creates distortions across its length, reflecting an ever-changing display of abstracted shapes and colours. Inside the relief frame sits an organically shaped flat mirror, that brings wonderful contrast. The mirror comes in two sizes, and the shape differs greatly between the two - the large mirror has a rectangular shape that measures 195 cm x 100 cm (with a depth of 23 cm), whilst the smaller mirror has a square shape that measures 110 cm x 110 cm.
The flat mirror in the centre of the piece comes in an Extralight glass finish, or in smoked or bronze glass, whilst the curved glass frame can be finished in Extralight glass, Extralight back-lacquered glass, Extralight acid-etched back-lacquered glass, smoked or bronze glass.
