Description

The Chrysalis Floor Lamp is inspired by the shape of a classic flower vase, or the amphorae of antiquity. A large yet thin metal structure creates the outline, that is then covered in a papery, semi-transluscent material that brings texture to the piece. Designed by Marcel Wanders for Flos, the Chrysalis Floor Lamp has impressive proportions, with a height of 2 meters. The large scale of the piece brings drama to the clean and simple design. The lamp emits a difuse light, and also features two light sources - one at the top and another at the base - which can be controlled separately to suit the space and/or mood. The internal structure is made in steel, which is coated with a semi-transparent cocoon.
