Description

Dissolve is a tale of transformation and of tarnishing. A chemical process or reaction. A journey. The concept itself is inspired by a metal surface is changed over time by the effects of the environment around it. Rust slowly takes over from the metal, bleeding down in uneven increments. It's processes like this that made the Dissolve Rug the artpiece it is today. It's the fact the rugs designed by Jab have the core elements of seemingly natural processes that make them so striking. How can it be possible to utterly transform such a simple action into an art piece? It is a frozen moment of transformation: neither before nor after, not one fixed state nor another. This process allowed us to explore Jab’s proficiency in grading between colours with scientific sense and artistic sensibility.
