Finn Juhl was an architect and eventually became one of the leading figures in the creation of "Danish Design", and pieces like this prove just that. Giving soft edge to the lines of wooden modernist chairs, he favoured organic shapes which took wood to the limits of what was possible. The 46 Chair is one of the most stunning and captivating chairs designed by Finn Juhl. Created in 1946 for Snedkerlauget’s exhibition for Niels Vodder, Juhl later modified the chair by simplifying it later on for the company Bovirke. This version has been relaunched and is manufactured by One Collection in Denmark. The 46 Chair is available in walnut or teak with a wide range of high quality leather and high-end fabric options.
