This incredible dining table was designed back in 1950. Finn Juhl was inspired by the simplistic designs of his American counterparts, in particular Charles Eames. Juhl swore by wood as his chosen material for decades, and created pieces constructed of wood and steel. This table is a product of his inspiration, featuring two leaves in veneered oiled oak, teak or walnut. The can can alternatively be supplied in black linoleum for a more modern take on the classic design. Juhl’s sense of functionality and detail adds real character to this piece. The frame of the piece is in painted or burnished steel tube framing in light blue, orange or black with toes in your chosen type of wood. A special mount makes it possible for the owner to let the leaves hang down vertically at both ends, or to remove them completely. This dining table is unusual yet completely functional addition to any dining room. This piece was Finn Juhl’s responsive design to criticism of his inspiration with the free sculptural art and its exclusivity.
