The First Bookcase was designed by G. Carollo for the Italian brand, Porada. A stunning, modern take on the bookcase, First is crafted in the finest canaletta walnut. The striking design features various cubes inserted into a the traditional, rectangular proportions of a bookcase. The deep hollows that act as the shelves are stacked upon each other - it is at once free-flowing and strictly geometric. The variety of different shaped and sized cubes makes for very versatile storage and/or display units. The contemporary design is juxtaposed with the organic beauty of the walnut - the grain is left on display, brining another linear aspect to the overall geometry of the design. This stunning piece can be positioned individually or in groups, and works equally well against a wall as it does as a freestanding piece to be enjoyed from all angles.
