The IC Wall Light is part of the IC range, designed by Michael Anastassiades for Flos. The range was inspired by a magicians trick whereby a small glass ball moves around, seemingly by itself, around the body of the magician. Translating this into beautiful interior accessories, the IC range comes in many variations but each has the same componenet parts - a slim, cylindrical metal frame with a large, blown glass sphere. The IC Wall Light has an L-shaped metal structure, with the ceiling/wall attachment on one edge, and the glass sphere delicately balanced on the other. The sphere is balanced on the inside of the metal frame, giving the sense that it is protected by it. The lamp can be hung on a wall so that the sphere hangs down from the frame above it, or alternatively it can be hung so that the sphere seems to balance on top of the slim metal rod. When hung from the ceiling the sphere is attached at the side, so that it looks as though it were frozen in time, rolling down the edge of the frame. The IC Wall Light looks wonderful hung from the ceiling or from a wall - and can be hung individually or arranged in groups horizontally or vertically. Made in brass, the frame comes either brushed and varnished, or can have a chrome steel finish. Measuring 38.1 cm by 31.6 cm overall, the diameter of the glass sphere is 30 cm across, and the small cup-shaped wall attachment measures just 11 cm in diameter.
