The beautiful Taccia Table Lamp is a clever mix of contemporary lines with details borrowed from classical architecture. Designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1962 for the Italian lighting brand, Flos, this is a great example of their ability to design elegant light pieces for the home. The Taccia Table Lamp has a distinctive column that is reminiscent of those found in classical Roman and Greek architecture, which is combined with elements that have a more industrial, modern look. The column is made in matt black, silver anodized or bronze anodized aluminium and is finished at both ends with nickel-plated metal in contrasting high-shine silver. Atop the column sits a large, angled diffuser that is made in mouth-blown glass. The reflector is in painted aluminium, with gloss white on the outside and matt white on the inner surface - which provides indirect and refelcted light. The diffuser can also be moved to any direction to provide flexibility to the user - it also comes with an adjustable light flow from 10-100%. The beautiful hand-made diffuser has large proportions that give it a strong presence in any room, and it means that it looks comfortable sat on a surface, but looks equally at home on the floor to provide a low light source with a sculptural quality. The diffuser measures 49.5 cm across, and the overall height of the lamp is 64.5 cm.
