Elizabeth

by 1508

1508 London planned and implemented an interior scheme for a dramatic yet homely space for a commissioning art editor in a converted post office.

The double-height walls provide the perfect canvas for hanging large artworks, which suited the client's needs perfectly. Each material was deliberately selected and crafted to provide texture, tactility and impact. The concrete shutters provide privacy for the bedrooms, but despite their monolithic presence in the space, feature circular perforations which act as viewing points to the interiors below.

Modern and harsh at first glance, this home gives a certain warmth, found in 1508 London's use of texture throughout, from the concrete design details to chemically weathered steel panels which line the foyer.
