Leinster Mews House

by Play Associates

A three-storey mews house built in 1870, this residence is light, bright, open and spacious.

A traditional mews frontage is contrasted with a surprisingly gallery-esque interior. The marble splashback in the kitchen demonstrates Play Associates' keen eye for detail, while the breakfast bar in the kitchen creates a truly social space. The bespoke kitchen design was crafted in a joiner's workshop, and designed by Play, along with the sweeping staircase which captures natural light beautifully, sculptural and majestic.

Honest aesthetic considerations throughout create a seamlessly tech-free, natural home, including discrete skylights and exposed brick walls, whitewashed timber and linen blinds and curtains throughout. Another example of these aesthetic judgement calls was to omit the need for a TV, by installing a remote controlled projector screen.
