Shoreditch Loft

by Maurizio Pellizzoni

Situated in the top floors of a Victorian Grade II listed building, this beautiful loft mixes pared-back industrial features with a glamourous, serene colour palette.

Pellizzioni made the decision to retain some original features, like the exposed bricking on the chimney breast, and the steel detailing on the pipes. Modern features supplement these industrial features, including the Poliform kitchen luxurious, white Corian surfaces and seemingly hovering island counter. Also, the awe-inspiring bespoke white steel and glass staircase, designed by Pellizzioni himself, creates a focal point and connects the layers in the residence literally and visually. To counteract a potentially overpowering masculinity, soft furnishings are strewn throughout, giving a softness to the home, which creates a pleasing balance between cutting edge design and homeliness.

The limited palette of cool, ocean blues, whites and greys was reinforced with final flourishes in accessories from B&B Italia, Poliform, and Ralph Lauren Home. The swathes of block colour from Pellizzioni's chosen palette are broken up in the bedroom via a striped bedroom carpet, and heavy pattern on the rug in the living room.
