Wildwood Road II

by DK Interiors

This eye catching project exploits the power of the colour grey. Against grey, any colour comes into its own, glowing against the gloom of a moody charcoal hue.

In this space, DK Interiors paired this supplementary and complementary grey with a hot pink, giving the space bold attitude, without compromising on including delicate design details. The ornate magenta wallcovering acts as a feature wall, giving the space a touch of pattern, set against a largely simple and block coloured interior scheme. A mirrored cabinet helps to optimise the space within this project, while the strong use of texture defies the rule that we should always look to create the illusion of increased square footage.

The crushed velvet desk chair brings a cosy tangibility to the space, offset again by a mirrored desk draw. This space is a striking bundle of contradictions, which eventually result in a balance between space optimisation, and awareness of the importance of texture and colour in the home.
